Problems printing sermons
I am sorry that you had problems printing one of the sermons at my lectionary.org web site.
The problem often occurs when people use Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser -- the one that uses a big blue e as its symbol.
I use the Mozilla Firefox browser and haven't had any problems printing the sermons.
The Mozilla Firefox browser is free. See below for instructions on downloading it.
I am trying to figure out how to solve this problem. Until I do, try these two suggestions:
1. EITHER COPY THE TEXT OF THE SERMON TO YOUR WORD PROCESSOR
- Put your cursor in the sermon (anyplace in the sermon) on lectionary.org
- Press CTRL-A to "select" all the text. You should see the colors reverse to white on black.
(NOTE: CTRL-A means "while holding down the Control key, press the A key -- the A can be lower-case).
- Press CTRL-C to "copy" the text to your Windows clipboard. You won't see anything happen, but it happens anyway.
- Open your word processor. Make sure you have a blank document (the screen should be white instead of gray).
- Place the cursor at the top of the blank document in your word processor.
- Press CTRL-V to "paste" the text into your word processing document.
With any luck, you will be able to see the whole sermon as a word processing document. You can save it wherever you like on your hard drive. You can print it. You can edit it.
2. OR TRY A DIFFERENT BROWSER
In the limited feedback that I have received so far, the Internet Explorer browser might be part of the problem. A subscriber reported a particular sermon where she could print only the first page. I tried printing that sermon with Internet Explorer, and had the same problem. However, I tried it with the Mozilla Firefox browser, and it printed just fine.
You can download Mozilla Firefox browser at:
You can download the Opera browser at:
Both browsers are FREE.
Again, I apologize for the problem.
